 Festival of the asparagus in Bibione: history and taste/flavour.

To celebrate the white asparagus of Bibione the Farmer’s Association Cooperativa Agricola di Bibione, organizes in April, in cooperation with the Municipality of San Michele al Tagliamento, the “Festival of the Asparagus”. This precious vegetable with a delicate but long lasting flavour will be the one and only protagonist of an event that should not be missed. 

The guests of the Cooperativa Agricola  have the chance to taste and buy the white asparagus alone or together with other typical local specialities that can be found along the food and whine stands. From ham and sausages to cheese, from whine to fruits and vegetables: a real journey to discover and love this region and to taste the wonderful treasures of the Venetian cuisine. Furthermore you can also find a small market of flowers and garden plants.

Last year the cooperation with the Ethnographic Museum Museo Etnografico di Fossalta di Portogruaro made it possible to present a unique exhibition of traditional farmer’s and countrymen’s tools. In a nearby area, daily situations and events characterizing the former life on the countryside will be displayed. 
Festival offers to children entertainment activities with horses, small trips on the couch and the chance to walk along the nature trail in the still pure nature of the Tagliamento’s river mouth.
