An anniversary to remember

Bibione celebrates in 2006 its 50th anniversary. An important and meaningful appointment for this lively tourist seaside resort that knows how to watch into the future

- THE PHOTO BOOK

An anniversary that can not go unnoticed since it will be celebrated over the whole summer season with several events like the presentation of the elegant photo book “Bibione 1956 – 2006 Le stagioni, The Seasons die Jahreszeiten”. Beside the historical pictures from the city hall archives in San Michele al Tagliamento, this book presents many pictures that show unusual aspects of this seaside resort. The comment to the images is left to the lines of Italian, English and German poets dedicate to the changing of seasons.

- THE CONGRESSES
Two important appointments were organized as a further confirmation of the importance of this anniversary: on the 20th of May the congress “Sapore di Sole – Routes dedicated to wellbeing and local specialities to discover the products of the sea and the hinterland of Bibione”.
The beautiful beach, the quality of the service offered and the protection of the environment made it possible for Bibione to be awarded with the Emas certificate and fourteen Blue Flags. These only to name some of the elements that lead Bibione towards a privileged position on the international scene. I

The sea will be the main topic of the congress taking place on Saturday ,16th September with the title “Bibione between land and water. The sea, the thermal waters, the river and the lagoon: a unique heritage to protect and of which to take full advantage”. The Adriatic sea, the thermal waters, the river Tagliamento and the lagoon are the main characteristics of Bibione’s landscape and unique tourist offer. An indeed this element, water, is the topic on which the congress wants to drive attention by creating a platform to exchange of opinions, present reports and projects aimed to protect the environment.

- CELEBRATIONS
On Sunday, 23rd of July, there will be the chance to celebrate Bibionie’s anniversary by participating to the entertainment program and shows organized in its honours.
The celebrations will take place in the municipality park of Bibione Pineda from 9.00 pm on.


- THE EXHIBITION
Finally, on Sunday, the 17th of September, memories will be the protagonists of the fascinating exhibition “Amarcord Bibione”: an exhibition of pictures, souvenirs and memorabilia that made the history of Bibione and that have the characteristic of belonging to people and citizens, who have known this resort for years and chose it to spend their holidays. It is a moving and charming historical overview, an act of love towards a resort that many carry in their heart.
The objects have to be taken to the Municipal House, i.e. Casa Comunale, of San Michele al Tagliamento or to the office in Bibione, Via Maja not later than Friday, the 11th of August 2006, 12.00 am.
