EMAS

The environmental certification EMAS

Bibione is the firs tourist resort in Europe to be awarded with the Environmental Certification EMAS.
Concretely, the environmental advantages a tourist can experience if they are spending their vacation in a certified beach resort are following:
- a higher quality of the bathing waters, thanks to the careful and controlled used to the clearing plant;
- a higher quality of the services offered at the beach;
- an efficient differentiate garbage collection, constantly supervised;
- an careful urbanization policy that implement measures and facilities that aim to a steady protection of the surrounding environment.
- The construction of safe bike routes to discover the beauty of nature;
- the implementation of environmental programs, i.e. awareness campaigns.

To place an environmental certification request means to willingly declare the goals a seaside resort wants to achieve in the short and long term.
It means also to analyse, a priori, the strengths and weakness of a region as far as its regulations, technical competence and organisation is concerned.

It means to identify new operative models to make the most of and protect the environmental resources. All this by implementing strict protocols, which have been approved by official councils.
For this reason an Emas office was opened in Bibione, in the quarters of the municipality delegation in Via Maja.
This office has the task to provide with information all citizens, tourists, association, tourist operators on how to give their contribution in maintaining together the quality level achieved as well as further improve the environmental standards in their respective sectors of competence.
Qualified personnel will provide you with all information concerning the EMAS certification as well as the protocols in force.
