Bibione (Ve) – Municipal Tennis Center
Basket3 Meeting is an interesting summer tournament intended for all lovers of the 3 against 3. You play to win but above all to have fun during evening spritz parties and nights in the best pubs of the seaside resort. The tournament will take place in the Municipal Tennis Center in Bibione (via Cellina, 2): a new and more than 20,000 square metres wide multi-functioned sports facility between the green and the pinewood, equipped with a big covered swimming pool, tennis play courts, five-a-side, beach volley, green volley and eight basket playgrounds. The Sports Center is 800 metres from the sea and is equipped with bar and restaurant facility, toilets and changing rooms with warm water showers, Jacuzzi tube, sun beds, sun umbrellas and a lot more.
Application. The tournament is intended for teams of all levels divided into the categories 3vs3 men and 3vs3 women, made of three players on the ground and two eventual reserves. N.B.: For the playing category 3vs3 men the eventual participation of a woman is allowed. The athletes who applied in one team cannot participate in other teams of the same playing category.
Playing features. The playing features consist in a qualifying (on Saturday) with matches played according to Italian rounds with four/five teams. At the end of the qualifying, a provisional rank for each playing category will be made, according to the point ratio gained by each team up to that moment.
The 64 teams with the best point ratio gained in the qualifying will take part to the final phase, for both playing categories (for the teams having the same point ratio, we will consider the teams having formalised the tournament application for first). The final phase (Sunday) will take place according to the above mentioned rank, with matches with direct elimination until the final match. The games will be played in one round of 21 points; in caso of 20 even, 2 more points will be necessary to win the game. The final games (1°-2° and 3°-4° position) will be made of 2 rounds out of 3, of 21 points each with limit of 23 and eventual third round of 15 points, having two points more than the other team, without ranking limit. The refereeing will be made by Federation referees and, with a rotation, by the same participants according to a detailed match program provided at the check-in. Prizegiving. The first four teams of both playing categories, besides the products linked with the sponsorings they will receive, will be also awarded as follows: € 500.00 (first team); € 300.00 (second team); € 200.00 (third team); € 100.00 (fourth team).
Check-in. The check-in will take place at the Municipal Tennis Center in Bibione (via Cellina, 2) on Thursday and Friday from 11 am to 11 pm (to 8 pm for the teams not using accommodation) and on Saturday from 8 am to 9 am.
At the arrival in Bibione, the team-manager will arrange the check-in where the competition programs and any information about accomodation and night animation activities will be delivered. The participants and their families and friends will furthermore receive a coloured identification armband that has to be compulsory worn on the wrist or the ankle for the whole duration of the competition and that will allow you to enter into the International Tourist Village for free (4-star-accommodation center directly situated on the beach with a wide private beach), where it will be possible to dispose of big swimming pools with water slide and whirlpool, bar, restaurant, beach material such as sun bed and sun umbrella and even more; the armband will furthermore let you enter to club parties for free, guarantees you reductions on the entrance to thermal pools, discounts in the pizzerias and in some pubs.
Insurance and health certificate. Though this is a non competitive sports event, it is warmly suggested to the participants to draw up a personal accident insurance. In this regard, the organization suggests the enrollment to the A.I.C.S for the sports year 2007/2008 that will provide a minimum insurance cover both in case of accidents and in case of damage to third persons during the competition (see application form). We also remind that all athletes have to have the regular health certification requested for the sports activity they practice. The non card-carrying athletes are requested to have a health certificate stating their non competitive sports fitness (the so called good health certificate) valid for the current year.
Accommodation. For the participants and their families and friends accommodation offers with special prices in apartments, hotels, holiday camp and camp site are available (see application form to download on the website www.streetbasket.it).
Free camp site. The teams will have the possibility to set up their tents for free in a proper area inside the Sports Center: the tents can be assembled starting from Friday afternoon and they have to be disassembled within Sunday at 10 am.
It is not allowed to enter or stop into the Sports Center with cars, motorcycles, campers, caravans and trailers.
Reductions. There will be reductions on the application fee for the teams that will use the accommodation facilites at disposal and for the ones that will formalise their application for first.
Bibione Thermae: In the spa in Bibione you can find the pleasure of feeling fit. For the ones who do not want to just practice sports, they can enjoy a modern wellness centre with big thermal pools for adults and children, provided with whirlpools and water games, a modern beauty center, sauna, Turkish bath, solarium and restaurant facilities. Bibione Thermae is just one hundred metres from the International Tourist Village and around six hundred metres from the playground. For the athletes and their families and friends, there is a discount of 20% on the entrance fee to the thermal pools.
News 2008. This year’s edition will be enriched by a spectacular volley event: on Saturday, 14 May and Sunday, 15 June, inside the sports Center and within the Basket3 Meeting, a spectacular green volley tournament with athletes coming from all over Italy and Europe will take place.
